INNOGEAR introduces an innovative composite solution for helicopter landing gear, utilizing a thermoplastic carbon braided sleeve. This advanced thermoplastic material offers a lightweight solution that meets strict energy dissipation requirements, while offering clear environmental benefits due to its recyclability.
The proposed solution aligns with industry targets for cost and production rates, supported by the development of digital twins to virtually simulate drop tests and efficiently evaluate multiple design configurations. The work carried out demonstrates the strong potential of thermoplastic CFRP to replace metal components—delivering high energy absorption, reduced manufacturing costs, and faster time to market.
